Agenda 2030: Article 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Goal 16 of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda is perhaps the most philosophical, addressing important concepts such as peace and justice. However, it is also very concrete when it sets the goal of establishing strong institutions.Regarding Mus-e, our contribution to achieving this goal involves profound internal reflection. Point 16.6, in fact, calls for "developing effective, accountable, and transparent institutions at all levels."
These are three very important adjectives, in which Mus-e has chosen to invest, well ahead of 2030. We believe in effectiveness: donations and contributions supporting the project cover almost all classroom workshops, with negligible overhead, thanks to the generosity and dedication of the Mus-e personnel. In this way, children always come first, and we are able to guarantee a truly effective and structured program.
Second, we believe in responsibility: we understand that entrusting a class with its challenges, difficulties, and needs is a significant decision. This is why we are committed to rigorously selecting artists with high pedagogical credentials, capable of working with children even in challenging situations. We are also committed to providing them with ongoing training in pedagogy, art, and teaching.
Finally, we believe in transparency. Mus-e Cyprus prepares a report, which is published on the Mus-e Cyprus website. We are committed to making these reports clear and immediately understandable, for the benefit of those who believe in us and our project.
What are our goals for 2030?
- Strengthen monitoring and evaluation to better report to our supporters on the effectiveness of our efforts and to improve the effectiveness of our work.
- Intensify artist training, involving them at least once a year in high-quality training courses with experts in various fields and speakers, including international ones.
